I haven't actually wired this up and used it yet, but it looks like a well designed and robust product. I was also particularly happy with the installation instructions and manual which are well written, unlike some of the stuff you get from China.

3 Good product, but could be better

This unit works well and the range between my NeoAir and the switch spans 2 floors of a domestic property. But there are three important points to be aware of: 1. The width of the unit is 108mm, 20mm wider than a standard single UK face-plate, so this cannot be installed onto an existing back-box if it is 'flush' with an adjacent face-plate/back-box. 2. the wiring is designed to be internal (from the back) which isn't convenient if you want to replace an existing switched outlet plate (as I do). You will need to cut holes in the front casing and devise some way to restrain the cable at exit. 3. the override switch isn't very useful, certainly cannot be used by the end-consumer. After a lot of experimentation it looks like my NeoAir sends out a repeat status command every 20 minutes. Thus, if NeoAir isn't calling for heat and the 16A switch override is used, NeoAir will send a repeat "off" command which switches the unit off and cancels the override.

The load of the towel rail is 600 watts, and I’d like to site the timer remotely. Would a 16 Amp wireless RF switch do this, would we need to link it up to a timer (doesn’t require a stat) or can this be done through the Heatmiser App app that we already have ? See more »
